I have worked 10 years in West Papua and have come to know the Papuans as friendly hospitable peaceful christians. There must be something very wrong when the authorities do not respect the civil rights of these Papuans. Because the Papuan land is rich in resources foreign companies are exploiting these resources. The military receive `lunch money `from Freeport McMoran. The local population is left with the pollution and is dying from HIV Aids which is rampant. Medicines are lacking. The Act of Free Choice has been fraudulous. Papuan prisoners have no access to International Red Cross. Impunity. Many cases of extra/judicial killings remain unsolved. Arnold Ap, Eduard Mofu, Theys Eluay, Mako Tabuni and many others have been killed by the military authorities. The perpetrators of these crimes are not punished. Frank Hubatka, Eefde .The Netherlands.
